Question: If sedition* is against the law, why are Senators Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Frank et al still not only in office but walking around free?
Sedition: incitement of resistance to or insurrection against lawful authority
In an effort to be historically accurate I have done a little research into the topic of sedition. While not exhaustive I have tried to go to source documentation for my information. What I found in a cursory web search was the following.
In 1798 with another war looming on the horizon the government passed 3 Naturalization laws and a Sedition Act.
- Naturalization Act, passed by Congress on June 18, 1798 which required that aliens be residents for 14 years instead of 5 years before being granted citizenship.
- Alien Act on June 25, allowed President to deport aliens “dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States” even during peacetime.
- The third law, the Alien Enemies Act, on July 6. Allowed the wartime arrest, imprisonment and deportation of any alien subject to an enemy power. You know citizens of other combatant nations, like Saudi Arabians, Yemins, Iraqi’s Iranians et al.
Last but by no means least
- “Sedition Act, passed on July 14 declared that any treasonable activity, including the publication of ‘any false, scandalous and malicious writing,’ was a high misdemeanor, punishable by fine and imprisonment. By virtue of this legislation twenty-five men, most of them editors of Republican newspapers, were arrested and their newspapers forced to shut down,” including the grandson of Benjamin Franklin. (my thanks to the folks at Archiving Early America for their succinct information)
1918 Sedition Act.

( many thanks to the folks at BYU Library document site for providing this information and the ability to access the original act).
(ie. The surge is not working, our troops are morons, cutting the budget for the military, and sundry other outrages perpetuated by member of the Party of Undemocracy. They should ALL be stripped of their citizenship, deported and put on a list of enemy combatants.)
I would suppose as we have a illegal alien as president that most of our other laws are null and void as well. This is good to know. I wonder how the federal government would react if we all decided that paying taxes like obeying the Sedition acts is simply something that one can chose to do or not do? Would be an interesting contra temps, eh what?
