Welcome to Obamaland………………land of the enslaved, home of the indoctrinated.
Well ladies and gentlemen, there you have it. According to this report on June 24th 2009 the “Free Press” died without a whimper. It rushed head long into suicide. Of it’s own accord and with the blessing of it’s members it gave away any pretense of objectivity and jumped on the opportunity to become the actual mouthpiece of the Democratic Party.
Of course those of us in the middle and on the right have been aware and afraid of this trend for the past 40 years. Conservative and Moderate journalist have found themselves pushed to the fringe, if lucky, or without employment, most often. Liberal professors have poisoned the minds of their students turning out liberal hacks who couldn’t write a unbiased story if they tried, which they wouldn’t. The mantra from these denizens of academia is “you can change the world”, “we must educate the public”, and of course “we are the defenders of freedom”. There is only one problem with that kind of indoctrination, it is a lie.
YOU can’t change the world by yourself, and who made YOU the arbiter of what the world should be. If we lived in the world according to liberals, people would be on the endangered list (what with rampant abortions, homosexuality, eco-centrism, euthanasia, and the general hatred of anything and anyone who dares to disagree with their personal view of Nirvana.
Education should offer the opportunity to explore and learn different ideas and strategies that enable human beings to grow, achieve and understand more of their existence. However in this instance it means to indoctrinate all to one way of thought, demonizing anyone or thing that has the audacity to disagree with the “educators”. Smells like team socialism to me.
The press is no longer the defenders of freedom. That designation belongs to our fighting men and women around the world. “Never have so few done so much for so many”……..for so little. Todays press wouldn’t know real freedom if it stood up and bit them on the butt. Their idea of freedom is socialism/communism, where everyone is the same leaving no room for personal achievement.
Thomas Jefferson once opined
“The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter. But I should mean that every man should receive those papers and be capable of reading them.” –Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 1787. ME 6:57
He did not mean that newspapers should govern but that a free press is necessary to a free people.
Thank God (I mean that literally) for bloggers, the internet and independent journalists. Besides our fighting men and women, they are the defenders of freedom.
