I used to wonder how in heavens name Obama and his demoncratic coven convinced so many people, smart people, to buy into universal health care. I don’t anymore. I understand now, I have a sure knowledge of just why everyday, average, intelligent people would go for this. I still think it’s wrongheaded, asinine, and foolhardy but at least now I understand.
I’ve been laid off, thrown out into the cold cruel world. No job on the horizon, heck no job I can see on the planet. Luckily my spouse has a job with health care. We are very grateful. However in order to start health care with them we have to get a Certificate of Coverage from the previous employer. Because I’m on severance however the current insurer won’t give me the certificate that has an end date on it, because the insurer sends the certificate and they won’t know I’m not working for the company until the company tells them. We can’t start the new insurance until we have the certificate. So there you have it. The classic Catch 22 event.
This ladies and gentlemen is how Obama and his cabal pulled the wool over so many folks eyes. This is how he sold the snake oil, liver pills and bust developer. People all over the country deal with this nonsense everyday. My spouse and I have spent all day dealing with this. He’s gotten nothing done at all. I am ready to take a handful of tranquilizers. I can’t even begin to imagine what this is like for someone who’s really ill and desperately needs care for themselves, a child, a parent, a spouse. What is it like for people who are disabled or elderly? You don’t need a form for this you need an entire HR department just to deal with one persons problem.
This is how we got Obamacare. I’d like to blame the government, I’d love to blame liberals but no, insurance companies are the bad guys in this situation and because of them HR departments are the second level of villains. Because of the complexity of insurance coverage companies especially small companies have to sign on with large HR firms who add a whole new and different level of absolute nonsense to the mix. They seem to go out of their way to make it so difficult to do anything that many people give up and don’t do anything until it’s too late. I’m beginning to think that is exactly what the plan is now. Make it so bad that it’s not worth the trouble.
The Obamanationusts sold this plan to people who felt (wrongly I think) that there is no way the government could make this worse. That surely things would change and the process would be more customer/ citizen friendly and people could actually get the care they needed without spending days wishing you were institutionalized. That there would finally be some recourse, some entity for people to focus their ire on. Some one in charge to blame.
Of course they were wrong. In all of the hate and discontent though, nothing has really changed. Healthcare is still a tar pit of monstrous proportions. Until someone get’s serious about overhauling the system, making it consumer friendly or providing some other serious options nothing is going to get better. Insurance companies will continue to get richer. We, whether we pay for our selves or pay through taxes, will continue to pay more.
And prescriptions for tranquilizers will continue to rise.
