Culture wars

So I’m patiently waiting for the usual suspects to start with their “white priviledge” meme since tomorrow is St. Pat’s Day. Because you know that the Irish have spent hundreds of years being “privileged”.  Because when culture come up against culture usually there is some kind of kerfuffle.  Because there will always be people whose heritage is more important than everyone else’s heritage.  Because as humans we apparently can’t possibly not be in competition with everyone else…….because whatever we have, are, do and believe is always better, more important and more relevant than anything anyone else has ever done, said or believed. At least that is what is prevalent social mores say today.

Here’s the thing……on March 17 many people become Irish for the day. Most of the time this does not bother those of us who actually can trace our linage back to the “old country”.  If these people want to wear green, drink green beer, eat corned beef and cabbage and sing Irish drinking songs, more power to them.  Welcome, be our guests.  Appropriate our heritage for the day.

However, if you are going to do that, please do NOT continue to complain because someone dresses up like someone from your special group.  Do not complain because you think someone is “appropriating” your culture.  Do NOT claim yours is the only culture that has been disrespected. DO NOT demand that your culture be elevated over everyone else’s because you’ve been the only “victim” of someone else.  Because that is nonsense. Seriously………

Let me remind you that the stupid leprechauns of the “Fighting Irish” of Notre Dame or the  Boston Celtic’s logo do not remind us of anyone we know.  Most of us don’t drink to excess, we don’t fight with anyone who crosses our path, we don’t scream like fishwives nor do we spend all our time singing drinking songs and we don’t fraternize with the “fey people.”  We don’t make a big deal out of this because truthfully getting our knickers in a twist over stuff like this is counter productive and STUPID.  Frankly there are just too many more things that are more important than your perceived victimhood.

After all the Irish have been victims of the Romans, the Vikings, the English, and a host of other folks including the Americans who during the Famine refused to let ships from Ireland dock in American ports because those on the ships were contagious with things that could be seriously dangerous to the population.  Understandable but still………….

Everyone has issues, everyone has baggage, every culture, race and group. Stop living in the past, stop ginning up grievances, stop blaming your woes on everyone else.  Stand up, stop whining, stop living on the backs of your ancestors (or in many cases not even your ancestors). Start living your own lives, give back, make things better, make better choices, help others, teach your children to take responsibility for THIER own actions, value life, stop being uber sensitive and give people a break.  Then maybe we could all enjoy the best of all cultures without guilt and repercussions.

So now there is a new scandal within the now defunct obama administration (yes I do know how to capitalize proper names but since these people have never earned that I simply don’t do it).  Apparently the former administration went to court to get a FISA  warrant to wire tap a server at Trump Tower.

They were of course looking for the invisible Russians that someone on the Trump team was in contact with. Of course there was NO evidence of this.  The witch hunt has now turned around and started to bite the “dems” in the butt because after being in power for 8 years they’ve had a lot more contact then the Trump people.

Besides since when is speaking to Russians illegal?  I would think that in DC you couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting a Russian or someone who works for them or someone who spies for them……Seriously?  After all what did they really do except tell the American people their government, the candidate for president and the lame scream media were lying through their teeth.  When last I looked telling the truth wasn’t against the law either.

IF these allegations are true, people need to go to jail.  People need to be fired and then sent to jail. G. Gordon Liddy spent several years in jail for not as traitorous actions. Ollie North lost his job and career for acts that don’t even come close to the things these people have done.

And if they were willing to do this………what else have they done.  The mind boggles.
1. IRS targets Obama’s enemies: The IRS targeted conservative and pro-Israel groups prior to the 2012 election. Questions are being raised about why this occurred, who ordered it, whether there was any White House involvement and whether there was an initial effort to hide who knew about the targeting and when.

2. Benghazi: This is actually three scandals in one: The failure of administration to protect the Benghazi mission; the changes made to the talking points in order to suggest the attack was motivated by an anti-Muslim video; and the refusal of the White House to say what President Obama did the night of the attack.

3. Keeping an eye on The Associated Press: The Justice Department performed a massive cull of Associated Press reporters’ phone records as part of a leak investigation.

4. Rosengate: The Justice Department suggested that Fox News reporter James Rosen is a criminal for reporting about classified information and subsequently monitored his phones and emails.

5. Potential Holder perjury I: Attorney General Eric Holder told Congress he had never been associated with “potential prosecution” of a journalist for perjury when in fact he signed the affidavit that termed Rosen a potential criminal.

6. The ATF “Fast and Furious” scheme: Federal agencies allowed weapons from U.S. gun dealers to “walk” across the border into the hands of Mexican drug dealers. The ATF summarily lost track of scores of those weapons, many of which were used in crimes, including the December 2010 killing of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

7. Potential Holder perjury II: Holder told Congress in May 2011 that he had just recently heard about the Fast and Furious gun walking scheme when there is evidence he may have known much earlier.

8. Sebelius demands payment: HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius solicited donations from companies HHS might regulate. The money would be used to help her sign up uninsured Americans for Obamacare.

9. The Pigford scandal: An Agriculture Department effort that started as an attempt to compensate black farmers who had been discriminated against by the agency but evolved into a gravy train delivering several billion dollars in cash to thousands of additional minority and female farmers who probably didn’t face discrimination.

10. GSA gone wild: The General Services Administration in 2010 held an $823,000 training conference in Las Vegas, featuring a clown and a mind readers. Resulted in the resignation of the GSA administrator.

11. Veterans Affairs in Disney World: The agency wasted more than $6 million on two conferences in Orlando. An assistant secretary was fired.

12. Sebelius violates the Hatch Act: A U.S. special counsel determined that Sebelius violated the Hatch Act when she made “extemporaneous partisan remarks” during a speech in her official capacity last year. During the remarks, Sebelius called for the election of the Democratic candidate for governor of North Carolina.

13. Solyndra: Republicans charged the Obama Administration funded and promoted its poster boy for green energy despite warning signs the company was headed for bankruptcy. The administration also allegedly pressed Solyndra to delay layoff announcements until after the 2010 midterm elections.

14. AKA Lisa Jackson: Former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson used the name “Richard Windsor” when corresponding by email with other government officials, drawing charges she was trying to evade scrutiny.

15. The New Black Panthers: The Justice Department was accused of using a racial double standard in failing to pursue a voter intimidation case against Black Panthers who appeared to be menacing voters at a polling place in 2008 in Philadelphia.

16. Waging war all by myself: Obama may have violated the Constitution and both the letter and the spirit of the War Powers Resolution by attacking Libya without Congressional approval.

17. Biden bullies the press: Vice President Biden’s office has repeatedly interfered with coverage, including forcing a reporter to wait in a closet, making a reporter delete photos, and editing pool reports.

18. AKPD not A-OK: The administration paid millions to the former firm of then-White House adviser David Axelrod, AKPD Message and Media, to promote passage of Obamacare. Some questioned whether the firm was hired to help pay Axelrod $2 million AKPD owed him.

19. Sestak, we’ll take care of you: Former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel used Bill Clinton as an intermediary to probe whether former Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) would accept a prominent, unpaid White House advisory position in exchange for dropping out of the 2010 primary against former Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.).

20. I’ll pass my own laws: Obama has repeatedly been accused of making end runs around Congress by deciding which laws to enforce, including the decision not to deport illegal immigrants who may have been allowed to stay in the United States had Congress passed the “Dream Act.”

(From the site Natural News.)

These are just the top 20.  How many more have been swept under the rug by complicit media lap dogs and sycophants?

So yep, I believe this could happen. As a matter of fact I would be surprise if it were not true.  This is what happens when the guard dogs abdicate their responsibility to guard the hen house.  It’s up to the sheep dogs to step in and protect the chickens, sheep and mindless morons who refuse to wake up and smell the humas burning.

We shall see…..

It’s been a long time.  Four years to be exact.  Why did I stop writing?  Well, having a full time exhausting job cut into my writing time.  Then there was the birth of multiple grandchildren (5, 6 or 7 I forget).  There were job reversals and money woes.  Also keeping up with the obama administration’s scandal propelled tenure was frankly disheartening and depressing. The awfulness of the last election also provided a reason NOT to post  as well as the thought-policing of the internet (hello, 1984).

Mostly though I just didn’t feel the need to write.  I never really thought anyone except a few friends and folks from a certain political satire site ever read what I wrote.  I wasn’t doing it for that reason anyway.  I wrote because I felt inspired to wash the blood from my hands before I shuffled off this mortal coil.  I felt that if I was the lone voice in the wilderness, saying the things that many think but never say, it would be enough.  Eventually the distressing situation many of us find ourselves in became more than I could deal with.  If people wanted to go to hell in a hand basket that was up to them.  Since they didn’t care to hear the truth (which I alway tried to publish) I wasn’t about to make them do so.  Freedom is one of our most important God given gifts and everyone is entitled to throw it away because choice is also one of those given gifts. And to be honest my children are all on Facebook and so there is more than enough “articles” there to be commented on.

So then given all of this, why am I here?  Why bother returning?  Mostly because I missed the writing.  I missed being able to express myself without having to truncate my thoughts to something I hoped people would not ignore because it takes to long to actually read a post.  I’m tired of not being able to express a logical thought to it’s conclusion and I missed the opportunity to be creative in my posts, to make people laugh or cry or infuriate them.

So I’m going to try to do a better job at posting. Maybe one time a week to see how it goes.  If I enjoy it, if it keeps from having to put my hair out (cause sometimes my hair just catches on fire from the sheer unadulterated nonsense that people do to each other) I’ll keep it up.  If it becomes tedious, frustrating and counter productive I’ll stop most likely for good and all. To some that might be a wonderful thing but we shall see.  We shall see.
