So here in my little slice of Paradise there were demonstrations over the “contraception mandate.” At issue, as of course you will already know, is whether the government (Pres. Obama and HHS Sec. Kathy Sebilius) can force religious organizations, schools, foundations, hospitals to provide free of charge contraceptives and other pregnancy inhibiting, limiting or  ending services, which may be against the tenets of the religions  of said entities.

Of course the Obama administration had a back up plan.  Their compromise was that the insurance company would be required to provide said products and the religious organization would not even be involved.  Except of course if the insurance company had to pay for all this free stuff, someone was going to have to pay.  The organization would pay by having higher premiums, co-pays and procedure costs to offset the cost of free reproductive materials.

This of course was not an attack on the religious liberties granted citizens under the first amendment to the United States Constitution.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Nowhere does it say that we have only the rights given to us by our generous overlords. Nowhere do I read we have a right to be free FROM religion.
That there is a war going on against religion and especially Christians right now is to state the obvious.  Hollywood and it’s degenerates have been at the fore front.  The drek spewing from the screens of our TV’s, movie theaters, radios, and personal devices has reach epic proportions.  Every where good is being labeled as bad and bad as good.  The media is hand and hand in this debacle.  They push their agenda driven by selfishness, self obsession and self absorption.
While I can understand why some would herald the mandate, I wonder that no one has seen fit to weigh in on some of the unintended consequences of such a mandate.  While we know that the pill is effective it is not without side effects.  What happens after years and years of prescriptions? What happens when a woman can’t ovulate anymore?  What happens to those who take the morning after pill and find that down the road they can’t get pregnant? How about all those wonderful side effects from the pill and other birth control methods (intra uterine products)?  When does one become old enough to get this FREE birth control? 18, 17, 14, 12? After all who wants twelve year olds on the pill, right?  Maybe the better question is why are there 12 year olds having intercourse and who are they having it with?
Not to mention who will the largest procurers of said contraceptives be.  One would imaging the poor, those on public assistance, those who know nothing but Food Stamps and Welfare.  Those of a certain socio-economic group and with in that group are a high percentage of minorities.  I guess eugenics maven and Planned Parenthood founder will get her wish.
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial “purification,” couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.
and her thoughts on blacks, immigrants and the indigent…
…human weeds,’ ‘reckless breeders,’ ‘spawning… human beings who never should have been born.”  Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people
The Maybe your religion teaches abstinence.  Maybe you’re the parent and have decided that sexual experience is best conducted in a committed, legal arrangement where both parties are mature enough to handle the consequences whatever they may be.  Maybe it’s time to stop the spread of ignorance and self loathing that allows young people to believe they are only as important as their next sexual encounter. Maybe it’s time it stop perpetuating the belief that wickedness ever was happiness.  If people are so all fired happy with their loose morals and no religion, why are they so obviously unhappy.  Why does nothing, no matter how jaded and depraved satisfy them.
Why is it that we can’t find our way out of the morass in which we’ve sunk ourselves by our unwillingness to stand up for what’s correct and our paranoia that someone may be offended by our lives.  Guess what, I’m offended everyday.  I’m offended when I’m lied to by politicians and the media. I’m offended by TV shows and movies that present families as inconsequential and members as ignorant buffoons or intolerant zealots.  I’m offended by the Bill Maher’s and Joy Behar’s of the world who think the rules, whatever they are, don’t apply to them.  More than that I’m offended every time I go to the store or a movie or really anywhere that people congregate.  The filth that spews from their mouths loudly and often is enough to make one never want to leave the house again.
So the next time religion offends you, give a thought to what just came out of your mouth.  As someone once said……”Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?’ and “You have in your mouth what I wouldn’t have on my feet”.  Your welcome.

Today in the Washington Post is a lovely little opinion piece base on an interview done with the woman running against Scott Brown in MA.  Her name is Elizabeth Warren. You’ve got to give the girl credit, she certainly stands up for what she shills for.

However here are some of the delightful natterings from the piece I just can’t resist sharing.

“I want to see the president evolve because I believe that is right; marriage equality is morally right,” Warren said

“I’d be glad to see it included in the Democratic platform,” she said. “It helps raise awareness of the impact of DOMA and it helps build support to repeal it.”

Warren is also taking hits because of her support for the “contraceptive mandate” which her detractors are alleging shows an anti-Catholic as well as an anti-religious bias. She is trying to portray herself as someone who makes decisions on her values and apparently she and her proponents think that this will draw a sharp line between her and Sen. Scot Brown.  Of course in the last several years Sen. Brown has often parted ways with his party so I’m pretty sure that’s not going to play well for Warren.

As Professor Warren she’ll have enough to overcome with an elitist, university promoted, ivy tower mindset that didn’t sit well with the electorate when the voted in the Anti-Kennedy Scot Brown . Didn’ I hear somewhere that one of the multitude of Kennedy’s in waiting is going to run for the “Kennedy” seat.  After all his great granddaddy paid for that seat with hard earned cash (from enterprises that no one wants to talk about, but many of which were illegal none the less).  So I would think her first battle would be with the Boston “mob”. If she survives to run another day then maybe she’ll be able to take on Brown.

Here’s an interesting thing for those who ascribe to the evolution theory.  If indeed one where to evolve it wouldn’t be to same sex attraction.  That would indeed put a real crimp in natural selection.  Same sex attraction in the animal world does not mean the animal survives. It simply means that the animals genes have been removed from the pool. Not only would the strong not survive, they wouldn’t reproduce and so evolution would come to a screeching halt.  Of course I’m referring to actually man/woman reproduction instead of petrie dish reproduction.  Genetic engineering is a much better system  because we know man is so much smarter and more advanced than any Supreme being?

Can’t you just imagine God saying to Mrs. God, ” I told you we should have gone dancing instead of creating the earth.  I told you people were nothing but trouble. ”

I know that’s what I’d be saying right around now.  That and “how hot does the sun have to get before the Earth bakes to a brickette?  How about we try out my new grill tonight honey?”

So the most popular story that ” never was” , is the one about the 13 year old presidents daughter on a school sanctioned trip to Mexico.  The White House has asked news outlets to take down the story for fear of  what exactly?  Are they afraid some Mexican drug lord is going to kidnap her?  Or maybe some of the presidents enemies in this country or even those farther away then Mexico.  Given the way this president offends people I guess it’s not such a strange idea.

As usual the problem goes much deeper, because let’s face it life is complex.  If we were to start at the beginning we might mention that;

  • What parent of a 13 year old girl would allow her, school trip or not, to travel to Mexico for “Spring Break”.  Mexico a country the State Department has warned other older students, you know the ones “Spring Break” has meaning for, the COLLEGE students, not to travel to.
  • Why are we the people paying for the 25 secret service agents that have to follow around a 13 year old girl and try to keep her safe in what some people describe as a war zone between drug cartels.  Law enforcement has given up in Mexico and the cartels are the ones in charge.
  • Why would someone encourage their child to pretend to be older than they are?  Why would they  approve of an activity which is not appropriate for their child’s age?

In the beginning of this mess the fault was laid at the door of those in the new media that wrote about the trip, saying that the presidents children are off limits to reporters.   While I understand the sentiment, remember that these children have been on something like a permanent vacations since their father was elected.  This latest nonsense is just the tip of the “elitist ” iceberg.  Even though Ms Obama has come under fire for her elaborate and expensive vacations, reporters have left the children alone.  This time it’s different.  This time it’s not her life Ms.Obama’s putting in danger.

One wonders at the parenting skill set modeled by the Obamas.  The encouragement to their daughters to “grow up” too soon.  To become partakers of a habit that has not only become questionable but dangerous.  To allow others to pay for their needs, nay their wants.

So contrary to the White House I will post a story about Malia Obama’s Spring Break Vacation.  Here’s a tip though.  My problem’s not with the girl, she’s simply a product of her environment.  My problem is with parents who are too busy being their children’s friend, which never ends well than to be parents.

Grow a back bone. Say no, you can’t go on Spring Break to Mexico. No you can’t run the roads all night long, you can’t date until you’re 16 unless in a group and you can’t single date until you’re 18.  You can’t rob banks, homes, people , or hurt others in any way (assault, rape, murder)

I wonder if this kind of parenting has been around long? By the rate of incarceration in this country and around the world, I think maybe it has.

When Irish Eyes Are……Dying. (over at American Thinker)

The article is about Soros and some of his cronies trying to import Abortion to Ireland.  It is illegal there.  I was going to post this  on the article but I figured it was a bit over the top for them and they already moderate my posts as it is. I guess I went over board sometime but if they don’t tell you when you do, how would you know.  So I figured I’d make my stand here instead.  What follows is the comment which spurred my response and said response.

//You mean that women in Ireland now have a better chance of controlling their lives–God bless those who are helping them to do so. Oh, and St. Patrick had narry a drop of Irish blood. He was a Romanized Briton–check it out. And I can say that because I’m half Irish. And woman have been oppressed in that backwater for eons. Just talk to the ones who haven’t been utterly brainwashed by the Catholic church and its male crap and you’ll get the real story. So sorry that you’ll actually have to stop destroying women.// by saxonsun

//Here’s an odd thing. I’m not usually very engaged in this issue. I have my own opinion and pretty much keep it to myself. But honey you pushed all my buttons, all at the same time. You’re really talented.

How about we let the Irish take care of their own issues? How about we keep our fithy degenerate ideals to ourselves? How about we stop trying to make everyone else as miserable as we seem to be? Because with all the baby killing going on in this country, feminists should be washing their hair in blood and cackling all the way to the next Occupy event, but they continue to scream, shriek and wail over imagined slights and pretend offenses.

So dead babies is what women were fighting for in the 1960’s? The opportunity to commit genocide on generations of the unborn. Seriously, this is what we want to be known for, this was the great enlightenment? Our (female) freedom bought with the blood of the unborn. Rome had nothing on us, we are the cess pool of human detritus.

Had I known this then, I’d have fought against the women’s movement. If this makes me a traitor to my sex, so be it. Freedom bought on the blood of innocents is the worst excuse for homicide I’ve ever heard.

Someone convince me I’m wrong about it.//

(sorry for the rant, I guess my Irish was up-ba dump chi)

…..due to madness?

Yes it is March again.  It comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb but in between it seems that March has degenerated into  brackets, schedules, games and hoopla (pun soooooo intended).  Maybe we should just rename March.  We could call it Hoop-b-hap’nen, or B-Ball  or Overpaid, Undereducated players with too much money, women and attention month.  This spectacle, this month long orgy of sweaty, overdeveloped, shallow individuals is somewhat akin to a month of WWE programs.  On every night, talked about every day on  TV, radio and the internet. Even small children are encouraged to “bracket”. One wonders if their parents pay as much attention to their homework as they do the the basketball rankings.

Just so you know, I’m not a sports person.  While I enjoy watching some sports, sometimes they do not take on a religionlike patina in my life.  I don’t care if they strike and the season is over.  I don’t care if they can’t have a play offs.  It doesn’t matter to me what team so and so is ranked. I probably couldn’t name you one person playing basketball, baseball or hockey today.  I do know who Tebow is and who Payton Manning and his brother are. (I just can’t remember the little Mannings last name).  I also understand that we all need a hobby, a break from the tediousness of life, an outlet and that down time is different for every person.

What I don’t understand is;

MARCH MADNESS: President to take UK PM to NCAA b’ball game…

PAPER: Broncos in contract talks with Peyton Manning…

COPS: Coach makes girl run laps; father beats him unconscious…

Massachusetts father faces charges for allegedly pointing laser at hockey goalie

Police arrest man in alleged ear-biting attack on youth basketball coach

There are more but I didn’t bother to go beyond the very first page of google search.

My point.  It’s a game.  It is not the pinnacle of American culture.  It is NOT the best of what we have to offer. This is not how I want to appear to to others.  More than that it is not the example I want my grandchildren to emulate. I don’t want to believe that the president of the United States cares more about who’s winning a basketball game than that gas is $3.80 a gallon, milk is $3.50 and that dinner at a fast food restaurant is $9.00 a person. I want him to be totally engaged in running the country.

On second thought with this president………maybe he should check out for March and take his cabinet and czars with him.  We won’t be able to fix everything in a month but we can try.

depends apparently on which side of the cultural divide you’re standing on.

I’m tried to stay out of the Limbaugh/ Fluke kerfuffle.  There is really no way to win in this argument.  It’s kind of like the joke ” So Mr. Ghandi, when did you stop beating your wife”.  While I would agree that domestic violence is not funny, the idea is that one can not answer the question either yes or no without intimating that they have indeed at some time beat their wives. (and Mr. Ghandi, non violent saint that he supposedly was, did in fact beat his wife – culture aside this is not a good thing)

But I digress.  Last week conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh referred to a women who appeared before a congressional committee about Obama’s contraceptive mandate as a “slut”.  Actually he was asking the question how does one describe or refer or name someone who testifies that she and other college students are so sexually active that the cost of contraceptive is causing them to go broke.  According to the dictionary someone who has sex indiscriminately is sexually promiscuous. The thesaurus also suggest some of the following terms, bimbo, broad, doxy, easy make, hooker, moll, nympho, piece of tail, prostitute, tramp, whore.  All of these are much worse than anything Limbaugh said.

Then on the other side of the aisle we have Bill Maher.  Former actor (B list) now political commentator and talk show host. His mouth is so foul even Larry Flint would have a hard time listening to him for long. Maher hates conservative women with such a wild and fiery passion, it’ almost pathological.  The words he has used to describe former Alaska Governor Palin would make anyone with any morals at all blanch.  His references to Rep. Michele Bachman while not nearly as septic are still beyond inappropriate. For those of you with a strong stomach this article is very enlightening (caution X rated language, enter at your own risk. I just wanted to show I don’t make this stuff up, I don’t have too). Take note of the Maher quote “I can call Palin a &$^$ because I don’t have sponsors.  He commented about the governor,  not on his show but at the Winspear Opera House  in Dallas. People actually had to pay to hear this kind of licentiousness. Who though is calling for Maher’s head? Who is calling for a boycott on Maher? Oh that’s right it’s only offensive if it’s directed at liberals and their cabal.

Brings to mind a headline I say yesterday when libtalker Little Mikey Malloy who said of tornado victims, just last week,

“They keep being killed, you know, their God, if this is where they want to look at it, keeps smashing them into little grease spots on the pavement in…Alabama and Mississippi and Arkansas and Georgia and…Oklahoma, you know, the Bible Belt. [imitates “preacher” voice] ‘Where they ain’t going to let no goddamn science get in the way – it says in the Bible, blah blah blah blah blah!
So, according to their way of thinking, you know, God, with his omnipotent thumb, reaches down here tonight and so far tonight has smashed about 20 people into a grease spot on Highway 12 or whatever the hell highway they live next to. It’s sad, it’s so sad for this kind of nonsense.”

spewed more of his hateful and disgusting diatribe by claiming,

I’m happy Andrew Breitbart’s dead.

Now president Obama wants to school Limbaugh on civility.  Physician heal thyself. (from the New Testament, Luke actually-it’s no wonder Obama and his ilk don’t know this quote. I doubt any of them have even a passing acquaintance with Luke, they don’t use his name as an profanation. They reserve that for Jesus Christ- his name they remember)

We could go on and on with the “do as I say, not as I do”.  This is the same attitude which spawned the revolutions of the 1960’s, the same kind of hypocrisy on the part of those in charge, so go ahead folks, keep it up. Hypocrisy, dishonesty, manipulation, derision and duplicity will eventually come back to bite you.  Ask those who lived through the chaos of the 60’s and came out the other side, actual adults instead of the Dorn’s and Ayers of this world.  Eventually even a pig get tired of wallowing in the mud.  Eventually.  If only we have that long.

I was reading my scriptures today (as a “Mormon” we are encouraged to read the scriptures everyday) and I came upon this gem. Luke 11:53-54 after Jesus questions the motives and morality of the Pharisees and lawyers. (this is in the King James version of the Holy Bible just in case anyone’s confused)

53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:

54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.

Does this sound in anyway familiar?  Could we perhaps replace the word Pharisees to, I don’t know, MSM moderators, members of the drive by media, certain members of the Hollywood elite, members of the current administration.  You. Me.

It doesn’t sit well for me to fell like I’m on the same side with the Pharisees in any way, shape or form.  Still after the divisiveness of the last 5 years beginning with Barak Obama’s entrance into the Presidential race, it is where I am.  I have been lied to, disenfranchised, down sized, and put out to pasture by my own government.  Obama claimed to be different, to be a uniter, a maverick, a different kind of politician.  I didn’t believe him then, not with the people he associated with, not with his voting record in the Senate, not with his pastors bigoted sermons, not with his wife’s shame at being an American.  At that time I didn’t believe in him,  but I did have faith in some members of the political class.

Since then I have come to the conclusion that very few people are honest.  Even fewer have integrity or even know what the word means.  It is a surety that most people can’t recognize it even when it’s displayed on a 100 ft. screen.  I have seen civility extinguished, morality debased and bigotry championed.  More people today are voting for politicians based on the color of their skin, their faith and their looks than ever before.  Instead of doing any actual research most people will simply allow cretins and oafs like Bill Maher and Bill O’Reily to tell them what to think.

I have become more cynical (and those who’ve visited here before or who actually know me are thinking, how can YOU get more cynical).  I don’t believe 99.9999% of what someone tells me.  I look it up, research it, find out about until I’m satisfied.

I will tell you one thing I have not seen this much racial tension since Montgomery during the Civil Rights fight.  The great uniter is really the great divider and we as a country are more divided than we’ve ever been. We think of “me” much more then we think of  “we”.  We ask not what we can do for our country but what are country should HAVE to do for us.

If this is what the current crop of cretinist codswallop  has in mind I think I’ll pass.  Once Obama care goes into effect I’ll either be dead (not useful enough to keep alive) or in jail (not wealthy enough to afford to pay).  So I’m looking at what should have been my golden years as the faux gold leaf peels off the walls.

Good Night Moon, wish I was there.
