So here in my little slice of Paradise there were demonstrations over the “contraception mandate.” At issue, as of course you will already know, is whether the government (Pres. Obama and HHS Sec. Kathy Sebilius) can force religious organizations, schools, foundations, hospitals to provide free of charge contraceptives and other pregnancy inhibiting, limiting or  ending services, which may be against the tenets of the religions  of said entities.

Of course the Obama administration had a back up plan.  Their compromise was that the insurance company would be required to provide said products and the religious organization would not even be involved.  Except of course if the insurance company had to pay for all this free stuff, someone was going to have to pay.  The organization would pay by having higher premiums, co-pays and procedure costs to offset the cost of free reproductive materials.

This of course was not an attack on the religious liberties granted citizens under the first amendment to the United States Constitution.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Nowhere does it say that we have only the rights given to us by our generous overlords. Nowhere do I read we have a right to be free FROM religion.
That there is a war going on against religion and especially Christians right now is to state the obvious.  Hollywood and it’s degenerates have been at the fore front.  The drek spewing from the screens of our TV’s, movie theaters, radios, and personal devices has reach epic proportions.  Every where good is being labeled as bad and bad as good.  The media is hand and hand in this debacle.  They push their agenda driven by selfishness, self obsession and self absorption.
While I can understand why some would herald the mandate, I wonder that no one has seen fit to weigh in on some of the unintended consequences of such a mandate.  While we know that the pill is effective it is not without side effects.  What happens after years and years of prescriptions? What happens when a woman can’t ovulate anymore?  What happens to those who take the morning after pill and find that down the road they can’t get pregnant? How about all those wonderful side effects from the pill and other birth control methods (intra uterine products)?  When does one become old enough to get this FREE birth control? 18, 17, 14, 12? After all who wants twelve year olds on the pill, right?  Maybe the better question is why are there 12 year olds having intercourse and who are they having it with?
Not to mention who will the largest procurers of said contraceptives be.  One would imaging the poor, those on public assistance, those who know nothing but Food Stamps and Welfare.  Those of a certain socio-economic group and with in that group are a high percentage of minorities.  I guess eugenics maven and Planned Parenthood founder will get her wish.
The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2)
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial “purification,” couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.
and her thoughts on blacks, immigrants and the indigent…
…human weeds,’ ‘reckless breeders,’ ‘spawning… human beings who never should have been born.”  Margaret Sanger, Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people
The Maybe your religion teaches abstinence.  Maybe you’re the parent and have decided that sexual experience is best conducted in a committed, legal arrangement where both parties are mature enough to handle the consequences whatever they may be.  Maybe it’s time to stop the spread of ignorance and self loathing that allows young people to believe they are only as important as their next sexual encounter. Maybe it’s time it stop perpetuating the belief that wickedness ever was happiness.  If people are so all fired happy with their loose morals and no religion, why are they so obviously unhappy.  Why does nothing, no matter how jaded and depraved satisfy them.
Why is it that we can’t find our way out of the morass in which we’ve sunk ourselves by our unwillingness to stand up for what’s correct and our paranoia that someone may be offended by our lives.  Guess what, I’m offended everyday.  I’m offended when I’m lied to by politicians and the media. I’m offended by TV shows and movies that present families as inconsequential and members as ignorant buffoons or intolerant zealots.  I’m offended by the Bill Maher’s and Joy Behar’s of the world who think the rules, whatever they are, don’t apply to them.  More than that I’m offended every time I go to the store or a movie or really anywhere that people congregate.  The filth that spews from their mouths loudly and often is enough to make one never want to leave the house again.
So the next time religion offends you, give a thought to what just came out of your mouth.  As someone once said……”Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?’ and “You have in your mouth what I wouldn’t have on my feet”.  Your welcome.

Today in the Washington Post is a lovely little opinion piece base on an interview done with the woman running against Scott Brown in MA.  Her name is Elizabeth Warren. You’ve got to give the girl credit, she certainly stands up for what she shills for.

However here are some of the delightful natterings from the piece I just can’t resist sharing.

“I want to see the president evolve because I believe that is right; marriage equality is morally right,” Warren said

“I’d be glad to see it included in the Democratic platform,” she said. “It helps raise awareness of the impact of DOMA and it helps build support to repeal it.”

Warren is also taking hits because of her support for the “contraceptive mandate” which her detractors are alleging shows an anti-Catholic as well as an anti-religious bias. She is trying to portray herself as someone who makes decisions on her values and apparently she and her proponents think that this will draw a sharp line between her and Sen. Scot Brown.  Of course in the last several years Sen. Brown has often parted ways with his party so I’m pretty sure that’s not going to play well for Warren.

As Professor Warren she’ll have enough to overcome with an elitist, university promoted, ivy tower mindset that didn’t sit well with the electorate when the voted in the Anti-Kennedy Scot Brown . Didn’ I hear somewhere that one of the multitude of Kennedy’s in waiting is going to run for the “Kennedy” seat.  After all his great granddaddy paid for that seat with hard earned cash (from enterprises that no one wants to talk about, but many of which were illegal none the less).  So I would think her first battle would be with the Boston “mob”. If she survives to run another day then maybe she’ll be able to take on Brown.

Here’s an interesting thing for those who ascribe to the evolution theory.  If indeed one where to evolve it wouldn’t be to same sex attraction.  That would indeed put a real crimp in natural selection.  Same sex attraction in the animal world does not mean the animal survives. It simply means that the animals genes have been removed from the pool. Not only would the strong not survive, they wouldn’t reproduce and so evolution would come to a screeching halt.  Of course I’m referring to actually man/woman reproduction instead of petrie dish reproduction.  Genetic engineering is a much better system  because we know man is so much smarter and more advanced than any Supreme being?

Can’t you just imagine God saying to Mrs. God, ” I told you we should have gone dancing instead of creating the earth.  I told you people were nothing but trouble. ”

I know that’s what I’d be saying right around now.  That and “how hot does the sun have to get before the Earth bakes to a brickette?  How about we try out my new grill tonight honey?”

So the most popular story that ” never was” , is the one about the 13 year old presidents daughter on a school sanctioned trip to Mexico.  The White House has asked news outlets to take down the story for fear of  what exactly?  Are they afraid some Mexican drug lord is going to kidnap her?  Or maybe some of the presidents enemies in this country or even those farther away then Mexico.  Given the way this president offends people I guess it’s not such a strange idea.

As usual the problem goes much deeper, because let’s face it life is complex.  If we were to start at the beginning we might mention that;

  • What parent of a 13 year old girl would allow her, school trip or not, to travel to Mexico for “Spring Break”.  Mexico a country the State Department has warned other older students, you know the ones “Spring Break” has meaning for, the COLLEGE students, not to travel to.
  • Why are we the people paying for the 25 secret service agents that have to follow around a 13 year old girl and try to keep her safe in what some people describe as a war zone between drug cartels.  Law enforcement has given up in Mexico and the cartels are the ones in charge.
  • Why would someone encourage their child to pretend to be older than they are?  Why would they  approve of an activity which is not appropriate for their child’s age?

In the beginning of this mess the fault was laid at the door of those in the new media that wrote about the trip, saying that the presidents children are off limits to reporters.   While I understand the sentiment, remember that these children have been on something like a permanent vacations since their father was elected.  This latest nonsense is just the tip of the “elitist ” iceberg.  Even though Ms Obama has come under fire for her elaborate and expensive vacations, reporters have left the children alone.  This time it’s different.  This time it’s not her life Ms.Obama’s putting in danger.

One wonders at the parenting skill set modeled by the Obamas.  The encouragement to their daughters to “grow up” too soon.  To become partakers of a habit that has not only become questionable but dangerous.  To allow others to pay for their needs, nay their wants.

So contrary to the White House I will post a story about Malia Obama’s Spring Break Vacation.  Here’s a tip though.  My problem’s not with the girl, she’s simply a product of her environment.  My problem is with parents who are too busy being their children’s friend, which never ends well than to be parents.

Grow a back bone. Say no, you can’t go on Spring Break to Mexico. No you can’t run the roads all night long, you can’t date until you’re 16 unless in a group and you can’t single date until you’re 18.  You can’t rob banks, homes, people , or hurt others in any way (assault, rape, murder)

I wonder if this kind of parenting has been around long? By the rate of incarceration in this country and around the world, I think maybe it has.
